Crooked cops charged with drug conspiracy and racketeering

Two Chicago police officers are facing charges for running their own drug distribution and blackmailing drug cartels on Chicago’s Westside. Eddie Long, 37 and Peter O’Reilly, 42 were arrested on Friday and are still in custody. They are currently being charged with drug conspiracy and racketeering. The men are charged with using police and gang tactics to shake gang members and extort money from small businesses.
 “This type of behavior and corruption is not tolerated in the police force. These men are a disappointment to the men and women who serve this great city, and for those citizens who rely on police for justice.” Superintendent McCarthy.

Prosecutors allege that the crimes have been occurring for the past three years. Under the investigation of the FBI, the men were found to have been using private information on compliance issues to extort money from small business in the community as well. If the officers are found guilty, Munoz and O’Reilly will face a minimum of 8 years in prison for drug dealing, racketeering, and robbery.

Persecution of homosexuals

Man thrown off roof by ISIS  "The torment of gay Syrians"       By: Magdalena Bush             B eing a gay man in Syria seems to be detrimental in an already destructive environment. ISIS, an Islamic militant group whose main goal is to overtake the Muslims, constantly expresses their beliefs through horrific atrocities. The recent development of tormenting and murders of homosexual men is just one example of severe and unorthodox behavior. CNN reports , " Victim brutally killed because he was accused of being gay."
