Feature story

According to the CDC, "For youth between the ages of 10 and 24, suicide is the third leading cause of death."  There is something to consider when suicide is a leading cause for the deaths of children and teens. These days technology increases bullying and there may be many reasons for a child's feeling to take his or her own life. There are many reasons for the mental instability that children and teen face on a regular basis. Ignoring a child and dismissing the change of behavior, depression, loneliness, and mood changes will not make the problem go away.

                                                        Mayo Clinic's Suicide prevention video
Hundreds of thousands of children commit suicide in the United States each year . There are signs for parents and family members that can help prevent such tragedies. Prevention is the key to saving a child. Ask questions, seek help, and prevent another precious life from being taken. Most of the children who suffer from mood changes can be treated. Be proactive!! Don't let silence be the killer for a child and be aware when there is a problem.
